My First Christmas

Mommy, daddy and I headed down to Houston this year to spend Christmas with my Grandma & Grandpa Atkinson, Aunt Megan & Uncle Ty and my Uncle Gavin. Here are some pictures of our time down there.

We flew down on Christmas Eve morning so mommy thought it would be cute for me to travel in my Christmas pajamas and Santa hat, I on the other hand did not think the hat was very attractive.

Here I am opening some presents on Christmas morning with mommy. I was more intrigued by the wrapping paper and boxes then the actual gifts from Santa but I'm sure I'll appreciate them more next year!

Here I am giving my impersonation of the Godfather.

Speaking My Own Language

Here are just a couple of videos of me making some of my favorite noises and trying to get into trouble. Enjoy!

My First Encounter With Santa

Last week mommy and I made a trip to the mall to meet Santa. We met up with my aunts, Cathy & Taron, and my cousins, Ryan, Lauren and Brooke. Even though Santa had a beard like my Papa, I did not like him one bit. I started to cry the moment that mommy walked away leaving me stranded on his lap. Here are some of the pictures that mommy will probably use someday to embarrass me in front of my girlfriend.

My younger cousin Brooke didn't seem to mind Santa at all. In fact, she was looking at me as though I was the one with the problem, not the man in the big red suit.

Moving Right Along

I know how much my out of town family enjoys seeing new videos of me so here are a couple of shots that mommy got of me moving around our family room today. I like being on the go! As you can see, I can't decide what is more exciting, my toys or the Christmas decorations!

My First Thanksgiving

This week was Thanksgiving and we celebrated for the first time in Ohio with everyone over at my Auntie Cathy and Uncle Todd's. Nana, Papa, Mimi, Bebe, Scott, Lisa, and my cousins Zach, Emily and Ryan were all there.

Daddy did everything he could to keep me entertained and keep my mind off the food as we waited for it all to be done cooking.

Not only was I hungry but I was not very thrilled that I had chosen to miss a nap and was then forced to pose for pictures with my cousins.

I was also pretty upset that mommy wouldn't give me more pumpkin pie. Here I am sitting on the couch after dinner. I think I've perfected my pouty face!

Cruising!

One of my new found adventures has been cruising along side some of my toys and the couch. Here is a short glimpse of me in action. I think I will be walking by 9 or 10 months!

Our New House

After a week of living like Gypsy's we are finally in our new house! Fortunately for me the movers are not showing up with our furniture until next week so I have been enjoying all of the wide open space for my new found love of crawling, pulling myself up, and standing! Here are some pictures of the house followed by a few videos of me enjoying some toys that have been borrowed from my cousin until mine show up.

This bay window in the front of the house has quickly become my favorite standing post. I like to keep my eye on the new neighborhood!

And here is what most of you want to see, a few videos of me enjoying my borrowed toys. I am growing up so fast! It's hard to believe that I will be 8 months old this Saturday!

My First Halloween

We are spending 10 days in my Auntie Cathy & Uncle Todd's basement while we wait for the workers to finish up our new house. We were lucky enough to arrive on Halloween so I could see some of my cousins in their costumes. Here I am sporting my first costume. I make quite a handsome gorilla if I do say so myself!

Goodbye Chicago!

Well I officially had to say my goodbyes to the concrete jungle of Chicago! Mommy, daddy and I have left to start our new adventures in suburban Cleveland, Ohio.

I don't think my future classmates will believe me when I tell them that I used to live in a house in the sky but here is my picture to prove it!

Watch Out World

Here I come! A few weeks ago I started what was my own version of crawling, I sort of looked like a corpse from a scary movie dragging myself across the floor with one arm. Then I moved on to a first arm, second arm, belly flop, first arm, second arm, belly flop routine but today I finally got it right! I'm officially on the go and not only that I'm trying to pull myself up on things! Mommy can't wait to get me into our new house so I have lots of open space to explore! Only 19 more days! Here I am caught on video.

Finger Foods And My Favorite Box Of Toys

Here are a couple of random videos of me trying to master the task of getting food into my mouth and enjoying some of my toys while hanging out on the couch with mommy.

Splish Splash

I was taking a bath! Here I am enjoying the water and some of my bath toys. That shark didn't stand a chance against me!

The Tickle Monster

I missed grandma so much this morning that mommy had to bring out the Tickle Monster in order to cheer me up. Here are a few of my giggles caught on video.

My First Trip to the Zoo

Over the weekend I not only had a visit from my Grandma Atkinson but I also had my first trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Mommy and daddy wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather and get me there before we move. Here are a few pictures of me and the animals that I saw. I think the goats and the chimpanzees were my favorites.

6 Month Well Visit

I had my 6 month doctor's visit yesterday and handled my shots extremely well. Mommy is always more traumatized than I am. I have gained 1.5 lbs and grown 1 inch since my 4 month visit so I think I'm finally leveling off! This is good because I almost weigh as much as some babies that are one year old!!! Daddy says I better enjoy my height now because I don't have a fighting chance of holding on to it.

Weight: 19 lbs (75th percentile)
Length: 28 inches (95th percentile)

I definitely still love my food....here I am telling Mommy to stop taking video and feed me faster.

Almost A New House

In just about 50 days we will be getting the keys to our new house and it looks as though it is coming along nicely! We went to see it over the weekend and it appears as though all they have left to do is the flooring, countertops and a few other cosmetic items. It's hard to believe we only have 6 weeks left in Chicago! Although I think we are ready to start our new adventures in suburbia.

6 Months Old!

Today is my 6 month birthday! I don't have my well visit until next week so no new stats until then but here are some recent photos of me. Enjoy!

My First Ohio State Football Game

Ohio State's season has finally started! Mommy and Daddy have been reading me the book "Buckeyes Big Game" to get me ready. I was very excited to finally get to see the team in action! Here are some pictures that mommy snapped of me.

This is when I found out that they were putting Terrelle Pryor in...

Then Beanie Wells went down on the field and was grabbing his foot. I was very concerned....

Then Beanie was carted off the field....

Not only did Ohio State win but then I found out that Michigan had lost.....

It was a great day of football!

Staying Entertained

I have been enjoying the game of "Peek A Boo" a lot this week with mommy and she has been anxiously trying to catch my giggles on video. Unfortunately the only thing she seems to catch are a few smiles and me babbling. Here are a few videos for now, at least you can see me sitting up like a big boy! Mommy promises she'll get one of me laughing and post it soon!

My First Cubs Game

Over this past weekend I had a visit from my Nana and Papa and we went to my first Cubs game! Mommy and Daddy wanted to make sure that we got to at least one game this summer since we'll be moving before next season.

I was amazed by all of the people and the field......
